What is the Raindrop Massage?

Raindrop Massage is a very relaxing form of aromatherapy (by use of essential oils) that concentrates on the spine. The raindrop technique is a process of applying therapeutic essential oils to the client’s neck, spine, and feet. The technique involves three elements: Aromatherapy, Vita Flex Technique and Feather Stroking. Nine essential oils are dropped in sequence from approximately six inches above the spine to simulate the feeling of rain falling on the body. The essential oils used in this bodywork are of the highest standards in the industry and are extremely concentrated. Essential oils can bring oxygen and nutrients deep into our cells, resulting in mental, emotional, and physical balance.

What to expect during a Raindrop treatment?
You will be asked to disrobe and lie face down on the table. You will be covered at all times, except for the specific area that is being treated. Your therapist will apply nine different essential oils along your spine and massage them in while applying a variety of hand techniques, each to help the body receive the different oils. Generally, the oils are applied by allowing them to drip from the bottle, which is held approximately 6” above the back – hence the term “raindrop.” A base oil is then applied to dilute the potency of the essential oils. Heat may be applied to assist the process. A Raindrop treatment can be between 30 or 60 minutes.
What can I expect to feel during and after my treatment?
Clients can experience heating and cooling sensations from the oils used. Some clients feel calmer, more relaxed, or describe their state as “ready for bed”. Others may have the opposite effect and feel energized, rejuvenated and “ready for the day”. You should avoid showering immediately after your treatment, we recommend leaving the oils on for up to 12 hours to get the most benefit from their properties. It is recommended that you drink plenty of water to help flush out any toxins released.
How often should I receive treatments?
Clients can experience Raindrop Therapy regularly to maintain a balanced body and well-being. The optimal amount is every 3-5 weeks.
